Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring is an arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach’s well-known chorale for percussion quartet, scored for vibraphone and three marimbas.
Rather than offering a stylistic reinterpretation, the arrangement preserves the calm and steady character of the chorale. The chorale setting is assigned to the vibraphone, while the marimba parts take on the role of the accompaniment.
The piece is conceived as a compact, contemplative work and is suitable for both concert performance and educational contexts.
