Sticking Together

Sticking Together is a collection of three solo pieces for vibraphone with a predominantly calm and introspective character.
The focus lies on sustained sound and gradual textural change, with resonance shaping the musical flow.

All three pieces are fully notated and avoid improvisational sections. Instead, musical development emerges from small changes in register, articulation, and resonance control. While dampening techniques already play an important role, they are used in a restrained and organic manner, supporting the musical flow rather than drawing attention to themselves.

The pieces are conceived as intimate solo works that encourage careful listening and a sensitive approach to sound. Rather than emphasizing technical display, Sticking Together invites the performer to shape long lines, balance resonance, and allow the vibraphone’s natural sustain to become an integral part of the musical form.
