Afro Blue

This edition is a detailed transcription of Afro Blue as performed by Gary Burton and Makoto Ozone on the DVD Live at Montreux 2002.

The transcription aims to capture not only the notes, but the musical interaction between vibraphone and piano: voicing, articulation, phrasing, and the clear formal structure of the performance. Chord symbols and formal markers are included to clarify the harmonic framework and support orientation within the form. Sticking and damping indications for vibraphone are provided where they are either clearly derived from the source or musically relevant.

The edition includes a full score as well as separate parts for both instruments, making it suitable for rehearsal, performance, and analytical study.
