About

Valse “L’adieu”, op. 69 No. 1 is a marimba solo arrangement of Frédéric Chopin’s well-known piano waltz.
The arrangement preserves the lyrical character and formal clarity of the original while adapting voicing, articulation, and texture to the idiomatic possibilities of the marimba.

Particular attention is given to cantabile phrasing, balance between melody and accompaniment, and a natural sense of rubato.
Rather than re-interpreting the work, the goal is transparency and musical clarity — allowing Chopin’s writing to speak convincingly through the sound world of the marimba.
